Consumers should stop using the recalled air conditioners immediately and visit www.friedrich.com/product-recall to receive information on how to determine if their unit is covered by the recall. Consumers should have the air conditioner’s serial number, which can be found on the inside of the unit, when they visit the recall web page or call Friedrich about the recall. If your unit has a serial number that is included in the recall, the firm will send you instructions on how to obtain a refund or free replacement unit.

Reports so far: The firm has received two reports indicating that the air conditioner’s motor ignited, with one incident causing smoke and fire damage to a residence. No injuries have been reported.
